In time for the film's 40th anniversary, figures based on the Graveyard Zombie, hero Ben, damsel-in-distress Barbra and iconic undead child Karen Cooper will be released throughout 2008. Following up the success of the STAR TREK reproduction line, EMCE Toys continues its mission to bring back and expand the original MEGO line by bringing back the classic PLANET OF THE APES line from the 1970s under Diamond Select Toys' license. The line is scheduled for late 2008/2009 and specific figures will be announced soon. February 2, 2007: STAR TREK MEGOS RETURN! DIAMOND SELECT TOYS AND EMCE TOYS BRING RETRO STAR TREK FIGURES BACK! Diamond Select Toys announced today on their website that they will release a series of retro 8" STAR TREK action figures. These figures are exact reproductions of the classic MEGO toys of the 1970s, manufactured by EMCE Toys. The first two figures, Capt. Kirk and The Klingon (at right) will be available for sale in June.
